About Me
Hi! Thanks for stopping by to check out my page. Here is some information about who I am:
I was born and raised in Bergen County and had a love for animals since I was a young girl. I got my first dog, a Sheltie named Cody, when I was 13 years old. He was a great companion, very smart and I loved him from the day we got him. I attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where I studied Communications with a minor in Spanish. After graduation, I got a job in New York City doing Advertising Sales, but wasn't fulfilled at my job. During this time of trying to decide what to do career wise, Cody passed away. I was devastated and started pet sitting part time to fill a void of not having my furry buddy with me. I loved being able to spend time with dogs and cats again! I started to think about what I could do as a career to incorporate animals into my life. I decided to quit my job in Manhattan, move back to New Jersey and go to school to become a Veterinary Technician. While I attended school full time, I worked part time at a 24/7 emergency animal hospital in Rockland County, New York. After 2 years, I received my Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from Bergen Community College! I then took my national exam and became licensed to work. I started my career at the Bergen County Veterinary Center in 2016 and am so happy to be working in a familiar environment again. I truly enjoy what I do and feel that I make a difference most every day.
Being a Licensed Veterinary Technician sets me apart as I have the skills and knowledge of a trained veterinary professional. I am compassionate and care about the fur babies I watch as if they were my own! I am also fortunate enough to be able to help sick or medically challenged pets. I am able to administer medications, fluids, insulin and most other veterinary required care while you are away or even if you just need an extra hand with an unruly patient :)
